Well, they're a faction of chromatic dragons: one red, one green, one white, and one black. And they're not the only dragons in the world, either, they're just the ones that have surface to make trouble.
Territorial. There was a time where dragons ruled over everything, terrorized humans, elves, dwarves, and gnomes alike... I imagine they want that power back at any cost.
That, and we dispatched one of their number who had tried to infiltrate the council under a human guise... so I'm sure they missed him dearly.
Interesting... dragons tend to take human shape as it's easier to... maneuver, obviously. But some Rangers are able to actually sense them through intense study and practice.
They're pretty rare, so it's not a common occurrence, and they're rather dangerous, so not many make it their specialty to know them.
I know a woman who is an astounding hunter. [ he smiles, can't really h elp it ] She's able to sense them, which is how we ended up slaying the one that tried to hide as a councilman. She uncovered him and we were able to find the proof we needed to back her.
