It is, and I admit, firearms tend to be rather dangerous, particularly in the wrong sort of hands...

But if I brought them into the world... then it is my job to put down those who would use it to further their evil-doings. It's my responsibility.

In an ideal world, that would be my goal.

The only problem is I've found my rifle to be rather helpful when combatting much larger... creatures. Dragons that raze down cities and hold them hostage, those who would endanger my home and my people.

[ he looks a bit resigned, adjusting his glasses. ]

The balance is key, and time will tell if the world is truly ever going to be ready for something so destructive, even with what it's seen so far.

Ah. And you've no good replacement for it, nor a way to end such threats otherwise, else I expect it would not be a point of such consideration.

I doubt I need say so, given that you seem to have an understanding of the situation, but so long as they remain-- even in your own hands-- you will not be truly rid of the threat of misuse.

Believe me... I know. I've already had a... copycat, so to speak. Shoddy theft of my own designs, more destructive than anything. There will be no peace with these sorts of things in the world.

But I suppose that's the least of our problems now.
