Never heard of one by that name... [ a tilt of the head ] What's that?

An eight-headed sea serpent with eight tails. [how the hell would that look..] Eyes as red as cherries, with trees growing on its back, and big enough to crawl over eight hills and eight valleys.

...It's from a pretty famous story. Every seven years, it would demand a sacrifice. But one day, the god Susanoo came down to earth and decided to help the people it was terrorizing.

[ oh well that. definitely is quite the story, and percy listens with a fairly calm exterior before giving a slow nod. ]

Well, nothing with eight heads... thankfully. Not sure what I'd do if I met a dragon with more than one head to begin with.

How did Susanoo do it? How did he help?

He asked the villagers for help. So they ended up making a fence with eight gates and eight platforms, with a jar of alcohol on each one.

When Yamata-no-Orochi arrived, each of its heads were distracted by the alcohol. It basically drunk itself to sleep. Then Susanoo stabbed it to death.

[his eyes are laughing a little]

You can really tell that it's a story just by that.

[ oh that.... that's good actually. percy hides his smile behind his hand firstly, chuckling into it before giving a shake of his head. ]

Nothing speaks to myth than a dragon distracted by drink. It's a rather good story, though.

I wish the dragons we encountered were fooled as such.

They're about as destructive, though thankfully they don't have multiple heads. If they did, I'm pretty sure we'd be well-fucked.

[ he leans back and will take a dainty sip of beer. ]

There are chromatic dragons and then, there are metallic dragons, the former of which tend to err more on the side of destructive, territorial chaos... while the latter tend to be a bit more lawful in among the denizens of the world. They can disguise themselves as people and walk among us. It's rather fascinating...

...As people? [hold on he's connecting the dots] Why do they walk among humans? Are they interested in them? Has a dragon and a human ever fallen in love with each other?
