[ He does want to leave but inexplicably he stays. Something about today's effect makes him want to fret his hands in front of somebody else, much to his chagrin. ]
What, have you not found anyone else to speak seriously about these matters with?
Of course I have thoughts, 'Twould be inanely remiss of me to not in such an odd place. It isn't as if I'm a resident, but even then, natives have thoughts of their own lands.
It isn't, but you've a pair of keen eyes, I'm sure. The insight of others is invaluable. [ he closes his book, nudging it to the side ] Sit, won't you?
[ Said easily enough. If the lance on his back wasn't already an indication of that shit. ]
I did not grow up reading much -- most of it was taught to me by the Scholasticate ere I came to Ishgard. I found I didn't care for it. I put up with it enough to be able to read and write reports efficiently, but I wouldn't choose to do it more than necessary.
[ Yeah it's just Estinien going 'yeah, I'm a scholar' (physically beats enemies with the book). Did you know scholars and summoners actually get an autoattack animation where they just whack things with their book, it's incredible. ]
Six? [ Okay damn Percy, big family. ] ...Then again, somehow, I can see that.
[ Percy just feels like either a single kid or one of Many. ]
The very founder of a city, then. [ Wow, aren't you a big shot? ] Sounds like the Dzemaels, where I am from -- the house that largely deals in architecture.

at the sound of the door, percy lifts his head like a creature with his glasses shining in the light like an anime as he sees him. ]
Good afternoon... looking for something?
no subject
He whirls around as he's spoken to, eyes blinking once, twice, then narrowing to see better in that anime flash...
Oh. He looks uneasy, but also there's still the usual bran dof mild irritation. ]
...No, nothing. You could scare lesser prepared folk walking in like that -- how do you see with that much light in your eyes?
no subject
[ i have too many icons like this i hate him. he's literally an anime without being an anime. ]
Didn't realize it looked so frightening. [ he lowers his glasses a bit even if it does make estinien look a bit like a tall blurry q-tip. ]
no subject
It doesn't, it just -- startled me for a moment.
[ Which is really also just because Percy has white hair. Context? Maybe will come soon. ]
...Suppose a library would be fitting for you.
no subject
I was afraid we'd run out of books upstairs, honestly.
Though after our "trial" a couple of days ago, I'm waiting for this place to blink out of existence again.
no subject
Careful there, if you expect it to disappear then it very well may. [ 'Not that I care...' vaguely in his mind. He doesn't even like reading. ]
Pardon me for disturbing your reading time.
[ And he just tries to leave... again. ]
no subject
[ he stands up a moment when he starts to leave. ]
Wait. At least stay a bit. Seems a waste to just walk in and walk out...
no subject
I'm not exactly an avid reader, you see... I would not make for good conversation over scholastic topics.
no subject
Come. Tell me what you make of this place instead with all our new developments. I wish to talk about it a bit more seriously with someone...
[ he thumbs at a machine not far from them. ]
There's coffee or tea, as well.
no subject
I'll... pass.
[ He does want to leave but inexplicably he stays. Something about today's effect makes him want to fret his hands in front of somebody else, much to his chagrin. ]
What, have you not found anyone else to speak seriously about these matters with?

Always running in the opposite direction of conversation.
You can't tell me you don't have any opinions or thoughts about this Prism.

Very well, but the moment I have a book pushed my way, I take my leave.
no subject
I won't bore you with them. Believe me when I say I know that lesson well enough.
But if tomes don't interest you, then what does?
no subject

No point in dedicating yourself to the things you hate. My sister was much the same way.
Paperwork is rather over-rated anyways.
no subject
And yet, you fit the look. [ Calls him a nerd in a roundabout way. ] You have a sister?
[ Somehow he struck Percy as an only kid. ]
no subject
he's used to being called a nerd. ]
Six brothers and sisters, even. She's younger than me.
no subject
Six? [ Okay damn Percy, big family. ] ...Then again, somehow, I can see that.

Yes, I had a rather large family... always a de Rolo to rule over some portion of Whitestone. The city itself, the infrastructure, external trade.

[ he waves a hand ] Bureaucracy and all of that. I had more interest in building things than politics. Julian was going to take over originally.
