[ listen. trial has already put him on edge. fretting is like second nature. his shoulders do seem to immediately drop as he briefly touches his own chest with a gloved hand. ]
Thank you... it's rather cozy in here. Completely different from upstairs.
[ yeah... honestly, he could. this is actually a bit nicer to be in at the moment than crystalline. ]
It's a very peaceful-feeling place... I like it.
[ he takes a moment to actually like. absorb it, looking around curiously before he's asked about the crystalline apartment in turn. he fishes for his phone, thumbing through it briefly before sharing a rather decent picture of what it looks like! ]
Ours is, well, rather elegant-looking, if a bit cold, but there are plenty of books that I've been able to enjoy on engineering... And the computer is a fascinating tool.
[ definitely. in truth, percy can't complain, he likes the keurig machine too, okay. ]
No such thing... but it's very fun to learn about. To think such things are common in so many other places. I'm a bit jealousβso much knowledge... so easy to sort through.
The trade-off is that, because knowledge is so easy to access, everyone is expected to know everything. And you have to have years and years of schooling and specializations for jobs now.
It can be. A lot of places look at what you've already learned before they even think about hiring you. If you don't come from an important school, then you have a disadvantage.
[He sighs.]
Actually, that's kind of why I wanted to talk to you: I think you might have more knowledge about a specific subject than I do.
[ percy hesitates a moment, something in his eyes as he glances towards his cup. he searches for the words. ]
I've seen it done firsthand... There are a number of spells where I'm from that do precisely that. A charm or suggestion, you can make friends with an enemy just with a word and the proper spell.
That's what I'm worried about here, with how some of the people acted during this weekend. Even Damien...he said he chose to do it, but I think something might have influenced him and either he doesn't realize it or he's too embarrassed to admit that it happened.

[ he loves tea, thank you :,) he's delighted. ]

[Atsushi really likes his apartment's aesthetics. And it looks like Percy could use a bit of cozy comfort too.]
What's yours like? I haven't actually seen any of the other apartments yet.

[But if it gets him a cozy, home, then he can't complain.]
Oh! Never seen a computer before?

[ a shake of the head ]
I can understand why work would require specialization, but, is it truly that awful where you're from? Is it that difficult to come by work?

I can give it a shot. What subject is it?
