Yeah... Maybe there's some rules to it? Like last week, they said they snapped right out of it once they left the area it started in. So the influence could be something like that, only... based on a correct accusation or guilty verdict. I just don't understand why it would make him want to hurt Naryu in the first place.
Precisely, maybe either of those trigger the release of the influence.
Precisely, why would someone who he clearly cares about be the victim. He seemed to be convinced that his friend was truly lost to some sort of madness, trying to hurt him. Do you think that part was true?
It's hard to tell when we don't know what happened, isn't it? I want to say yes because that's how it was for the others - they all wanted to attack each other. But if the rules of how it affected Kazumin changed, then maybe who was affected changed, too. I mean... even for a fire and everything, Kazumin wasn't hurt much, you know? So maybe he was the only one affected, and Naryu was trying not to hurt him.
[ i hate myself for writing precisely 2 times im so tired whymst ]
Those sorts of spells can certainly lead to irrationality, trying to justify your actions no matter what. It would make sense. Naruhodo did seem to favor trying to run if the carnival was anything to go by...
Exactly! He could have been trying to wait it out, like it wore off with the others. So I guess the question then is just... why would the prism do that? It's probably something to do with that letter you found before, right?

He seemed to be defending himself right up until the moment Atsushi accused him, but he doesn't fully come around until the verdict was announced

Perhaps they were both spelled.
